Zachary B. Millman, PhD, is the director of research for the Support, Treatment, and Resilience (STAR) Program at McLean Hospital. He is also an assistant psychologist at McLean and an assistant professor of psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. At STAR, Dr. Millman oversees the integration of clinical and research activities, harmonization of research protocols, and supervision of clinical outcomes measurement. He completed his PhD in clinical child psychology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and his pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship in adolescent/developmental psychopathology at McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Millman’s clinical work is focused on supporting adolescents and young adults as they navigate challenges associated with emerging psychosis, depression, and anxiety. His research aims to characterize the developmental mechanisms by which these symptoms emerge, with an emphasis on the roles of stress and reward system neurobiology. He also seeks to translate these findings into real-world benefits for young people by developing individualized detection and intervention programs.
